Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Hits Retailers

Activision's new game teams Spidey, Wolverine, Captain America, and Blade against Dr. Doom and the Masters of Evil - and it's in stores now.
Video game publisher Activision has annoucned its new game Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is now available from retailers in North America for Xbox 360, Xbox, Playstation 2, and PC, plus versions for Sony's PSP and Nintendo's Game Boy advance.
The role-playing game is based on the Marvel universe of comic book heroes and enables players to assemble a "dream team" of super-powered characters (such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Blade, and Captain America) as they confront the nefarious Dr. Doom and the Masters of Evil in an effort to save the Earth and, indeed, the whole universe. A massive cast of 20 playable Marvel heroes is available (including fan favorites like Iron Man, Storm, Elektra, Uatu, Heimdall, Namor the Sub-mariner, Vision, and the sorceress Clea) against Dr. Doom and a collection of villians including Kraken, Ultron, Radioactive Man, Baron Mordo, Galactus, and even M.O.D.O.K.) as action unfolds across a swath of locales familiar to Marvel fans, like Atlantis (hi, Namor!), the Shield Heli-Carrier, and the Skrull home world. Players can upgrade their entire team of customize individual characters, and players can unlock and use a vast range of power-boosting fear. The game supports a four-player online game with cooperative and competitive modes, and players can unlock legendary comic-faithful missions as the game unfolds.
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is available for the Xbox 360 for $59.99; Xbox, PlayStation 2, PC, and PSP versions are priced at $39.99, and the Game Boy Advance Edition is $29.99. A version of the game will be shipped for the Nintendo Wii in mid-November. The ESRB has rated the console, PC, and PSP versions "T" for Teen, and rated the Game Boy Advance version "E10+."
