Kensington Ci Lifestyle Devices: Thin Is In

Kensington's new Ci Lifestyle Collection of input devices sports a desktop set and notebook mice emphasize thin, space-saving designs.
Peripheral and accessory maker Kensington took the wraps off 26 different products in three different business areas today, highlighted by the company's new Ci Lifestyle Collection of input devices, featuring a desktop keyboard and mouse set along wth new wireless mobile mice. All Ci Lifestyle products are available for pre-order now, and should hit retailers in late June. "Our guiding principle is to give users just what they want or need and nothing more," said Juan Rodriguez, Kensington's Senior Global Product Manager, in a statement. "The new Kensington Ci Lifestyle Collection is one of the best representations to date of 'Smart Made Simple', with accessories that are intuitive and easy to use while still meeting specific needs." The Kensington Ci70 Wireless Desktop Set carries a $79.99 suggested price, and claims a footprint 40 percent smaller than traditional multimedia keyboards. When not in use, the keyboard folks back to reveal a photoframe to personalize a work area, and the keyboard also sports a mouse dock which saves on space and battery power when not in use. Meanwhile, Kensington's new wireless mice range from $34.99 to $39.99 and emphasize thin profiles and design-savvy colors. The Ci70 mouse is aimed at desktop computers and offers a battery-saving automatic sleep state, while still being 35 percent thinner than a typical mouse; the Ci70LE offers a hip rouge color. Amongst the mobile mice, the Ci75m comes in black or white-and-orange, offers a wired option for use on plans and other wireless-unhappy environments, and in-mouse cord storage. And for ExpressCard fiends, the Ci85m uses an ExpressCard receiver rather than a USB dongle and a corded option. Kensington also expanded its line of power adapters for use in cars, planes, and straight out of the wall for prices ranging from $9.99 to $139.99, and three new ComboSaver locks designed to secure notebook computers.
