Looking to expand its business and online offerings, Digital Trends has bought video game development outfit Embassy Multimedia Consultants.
Here in the virtual DT newsroom, we're not much for tooting our own horns, but we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that Digital Trends has acquired Embassy Multimedia Consultants, an Atlanta-based firm which offers brand development, strategic consulting, and development support to game developers, distributors, and retailers. DT views the move as a way to expand our online presence and add product and service offerings to the mix. Embassy Multimedia principal Scott Steinberg has been a long-time contributor to Digital Trends, and regular readers might have noticed we've covered Scott's recent books on marketing and reviewing video games.
"We're pleased to welcome Embassy Multimedia Consultants to the family," said Ian Bell, Digital Trends' stalwart Chairman and CEO, in a release. "Their winning combination of corporate and consumer outreach to providers of console, casual, PC, mobile, online, and massively-multiplayer entertainment only further strengthens the vast capabilities we already offer this rapidly growing, $13.5 billion-dollar market."
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition becomes effective immediately, and Digital Trends already has expansion plans underway, including opening up an Atlanta office during the third quarter of the year, and expects additional high-profile announcements before the end of 2007.
