Starting in September, both Verizon Wireless and Sprint will be offering the Motorazr V9m phone as a sleek way to handle both music and multimedia.

Both Verizon Wireless and Sprint have announced they will begin offering the Motorazr V9m mobile phone to customer beginning in September. The V9m is the latest iteration in Motorola's line of sleek, popular RAZR-style clamshell phones, offering dedicated multimedia features and a shiny stainless steel case. Motorola is hoping the V9m rekindles interest in its Razr line, which has seen sales slump in favor of a few newer, sleeker high-end handsets.

The Motorazr V9m sports external keys enabling users to access music and camera functions without opening the phone, and speech recognition technology lets users (or anyone sufficiently nearby!) to call friends and activate phone functions using just their voice. The V9m also rolls in a 2 megapixel camera and offers a big 2-inch external LCD display along with Bluetooth 2.0, microSD storage, and complete text, video, and multimedia messaging capabilities. On Verizon, the phone taps into Verizon Wireless's V Cast media and services, enabling users to download songs, video, and applications; on Sprint, users can tap into the Sprint Music Store, Sprint TV, and exclusive NFL Mobile content.

On Verizon Wireless, the V9m will run $299.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year agreement; on Sprint it'll be $249 with a two year agreement.

[Update 10-Aug: Oh, wait: AT&T is going to offer the Razr V9m as well! It shoudl hit AT&T stores in early September for $299.99 with a two year service agreement.]
