Nintendo Dominates UK Games Sales

Showing again that it's the champion, eight of the top ten games in Britain are exclusives for either Nintendo's Wii or DS games consoles.
If you want proof that Nintendo is on a roll these days, just look at the British video game charts. Eight of the top 10 titles are exclusives for either the company’s Wii or DS gaming systems. The other two are multi-platform games, which can also be played on Nintendo machines.
That said, the cross-platform Transformers game –based on the movie, which was based on the TV show for kids - has the top spot, showing the power of cross media marketing (the other multi-platform game also comes from a film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix).
Of the other eight titles, Pokemon Diamond (for the DS) is in the number two slot, with Wii Play coming in third.
It all underscores the success Nintendo has enjoyed recently. The Wii has sold over nine and a quarter million units since it was introduced last year. That compares to 10 million Xvox 360s, but that unit has been available for a year longer. The Ds, a handheld device, has sold some 45 million units in three years.
The popular Brain Training series has two titles in the best sellers (Brain Training and More Brain Training), while Pokemon also has Pokemon Pearl, all for the DS.
