Harmonix Releases Phase for the iPod
November 07, 2007 | by Nick Mokey
Guitar Hero addicts can get their fix on the road (minus guitar controller) with Phase, a music game played used the iPod's click wheel.
Guitar Hero III hasn’t been the only game developers at Harmonix has been working on lately – and we’re not talking about Rock Band. The game developer pulled a surprise release out of hat on Tuesday with Phase, a music-based game for the iPod.
Unlike the previous versions of all its rhythm games, users actually get to pick songs out of their own music libraries. The game actually turns them into levels with a similar look and feel to those in Guitar Hero, where players must press and glide the iPod click wheel with the rhythm of the music.
Phase works on 5th generation iPods as well as the new iPod Nano and iPod Classic. Harmonix released it directly through the iTunes music store, where it can be downloaded for $4.99.
