Movie channel and online video service find a happy marriage.
Joost, the online video service, has signed a deal with movie channel Film24. Under the agreement, Film24 will provide six hours of programming each month to the site.
It all went live on December 6, with Film 24’s debut packing consisting of 24 shows. These include Stand By For Action, a documentary about Gerry Anderson, the man behind such puppet action shows as Thunderbirds and Stingray.
Yvette Alberdingkthijm, the executive vice president of content strategy and acquisition for Joost, said,
“It is our aim to secure the very best content for our viewers – which includes providing programming that offers in-depth coverage and insights into the subjects and genres that meet their interests.”
Andrew Burns, chief operating officer of Film24, agreed that the pairing was a ” perfect match.”
Both sides have pledged to work together so that future programming will be tailored to customer demand.
