Censors Fight To Continue Manhunt 2 Ban

British Board of Film Classification still wants to block the game's sale in the UK.
It’s an is it, isn’t it type of story. First of all the British Board of Film Classification voted to ban Rockstar’s Manhunt 2 for its violence. But the story took another turn last week when a Video Appeals Committee lifted the ban.
Now the BBFC is fighting to prevent the game going on sale, requesting a judicial review of the Video Appeals Committee decision, saying it was based on an incorrect interpretation of the Video Recordings Act, the BBC has reported. In a statement the BBFC said,
"The VAC judgement, if allowed to stand, would have fundamental implications with regard to all the Board's decisions, including those turning upon questions of unacceptable levels of violence."
Although a witness at the VAC hearing had called the game “tame” it’s become remarkably controversial. When it was first refused certification, the BBFC said it was full of "unremitting bleakness and callousness of tone."
The game has been banned twice, first in its original incarnation, then in a revised version.
