Going one better than HD, the company brings in a laser tech TV that claims to deliver twice the color of HD.
If you think HD is the be-all and end-all in television, Mitsubishi’s new offering, unveiled at this year’s CES, might make you think again.
The company introduced a large-format LaserTV and claims it delivers twice the color of HD TVs.
The company claims that high-definition televisions display less than 40% of the color spectrum available to the eye, but that their laser technology doubles that figure.
"Mitsubishi has delivered significant technology innovations in the large-format television arena, and the debut of LaserTV further strengthens our position and track record for HDTV leadership ," said Frank DeMartin, vice president, marketing, at Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. "LaserTV technology creates a portal to an intensely real and vivid world beyond ordinary flat TV. It's a true dimension experience."
They also say that their laser TVs will be capable of deliver a 3D viewing experience, and proceeded to demonstrate it at the product launch. The units will ship later this year, and can be wall-mounted.
