March 13, 2008 | by Christopher Nickson

Google has said that it plans to cut jobs at DoubleClick now it's finished its acquisition of the company.

Reuters has reported that no sooner has Google completed in acquisition of ad technology company DoubleClick than it’s talking about a number of job cuts at its shiny new toy.

The acquisition of the 1,500 strong company was only completed on Tuesday, and shortly thereafter a Google blog post said,
"An immediate task we'll undertake over the next few weeks is matching and aligning DoubleClick employees with our organizational plan for the business. As with most mergers, there may be reductions in headcount. We expect these to take place in the US and possibly in other regions as well."
Google has said that it had been legally unable to make integration plans, but expected to have details at the start of next month, and will begin negotiations outside the US with employee group about staffing reductions.
