Satisfied with its 2006 licensing agreement with Epic, Electronic Arts has inked a deal for more than five more games using Epic's Unreal Engine 3 technology.
Epic Games scored a major licensing agreement for the ubiquitous Unreal Engine 3 this week, signing Electronic Arts on for more than five new games produced using its technology. The companies announced their expanded licensing agreement on Tuesday morning.
Electronic Arts’ original 2006 licensing agreement covered a handful of titles already under development, such as Medal of Honor Airborne and Army of Two. The company claims the new agreement concerns at least five new games that haven’t yet been announced, but declined to provide any details on the titles.
“With the largest and most talented studio operation in the world, it’s critical for us to give our studio teams the best tools they need to make great games,” said EA president Frank Gibeau, in a statement. “This agreement reflects our commitment to Epic’s technology which, in combination with our own cutting-edge systems, allows us to create ground breaking hits.”

Unreal was a quality game back in the day. EA usually does a great job with everything they do so this should be interesting.
