Security Advisory For Real Player

Real Networks has issued a security advisory over four vulnerabilities, and suggest upgrading to RealPlayer 11 on all platforms.

Real Networks has issued a security advisory for its multimedia RealPlayers, but no fix, other than a strong suggestion that users on all platforms upgrade to RealPlayer 11.

The vulnerabilities would allow a hacker to execute code on a system. Two of them relate to ActiveX, while the others relate to SWF files.

RealPlayer 10 for Mac and Linux are open to the SWF flaw, while 10.5 and earlier for Windows is open to all four flaws. 11.0.0 for Windows is only open to one of the ActiveX problems.

The company stressed that neither the Rhapsody 4 software nor mobile handset software are vulnerable.
