The iX104C4's new display technology improves brightness 50 percent from last-gen tablets for sunlight readability, and adds a faster processor, more RAM, and other options.

Having an LCD display that’s readable in the great outdoors may be a luxury for consumer tablet PCs, but when you use one to perform your job every day, it’s an absolute necessity. For these types of buyers, Xplore Technology cranked the brightness up by 50 percent on its all-new industrial tablet, the iX104C4.

Xplore claims this new Dual Mode AllVue Xtreme display technology gives its tablets best-in-class sunlight readability, and that’s only one in a host of upgrades from its last line of rugged tablets. The iX104C4 also boasts a 1.2GHz Intel Core Duo processor, twice as much RAM, improved range thanks to 802.11n Wi-Fi, and a serial port for expandability. Like its other tablets, that’s all rolled into a fla,t rugged package with a 10.4-inch display, integrated fingerprint reader, and even a PCMCIA bay.

Like most rugged PC manufacturers who sell directly to industry, Xplore doesn’t offer an MSRP on its latest tech, but the tablets are available immediately.
