October’s Patch Tuesday arrived yesterday, and Microsoft released 11 security bulletins that covered 20 different security vulnerabilities, four of which were deemed “critical.”
The critical patches covered an Excel flaw that could allow a hacker to make a remote malware installation, while others fix a remote code flaw in Microsoft's Host Integration Server product, give an update for Internet Explorer and correct a problem in the active directory component for Windows Server 2000.
There were also six “important” bulletins and one deemed “moderate.”
