Yahoo Expecting More Layoffs

As Yahoo undertakes more cost-cutting, rumors are flying that the company will experience a second round of layoffs.

The Wall Street Journal has reported that among other cost-cutting moves, Yahoo might well experience another round of layoffs. No numbers have been given, but managers have been asked to trim costs by 15%.

In January around 1,100 people were laid off from the company. Yahoo certainly wouldn’t be the only tech company to look to layoffs as a way to trim expenses. Currently its stock is low – also true of a number of other companies - down to $12.90 as of last Friday, according to CNET.

All of which might have employees thinking ruefully of that Microsoft offer from a few months ago; $47.5 billion would go a long way.
