Motorola Preps Android Phone

T-Mobile's G1 Android phone will hit the market first, but Motorola's Android phone will have more bells and whistles.

T-Mobile will be first out of the blocks with its G1 Android phone, based on the Google Android platform, but Motorola’s entry into the Android market will be much fancier, according to reports.

Rumors are that the Motorola phone will have an iPhone-like touch screen and a pull-out QWERTY keyboard. The big difference is that it will allow users to access and interact with social networking sites such as Facebook. That would make the phone very appealing to younger consumers who use social networking sites a great deal.

Motorola isn’t saying much about the handset, quite understandably, but at the moment its not even offering a release date. There had been speculation that it might come this quarter but that now seems unlikely.
