New HP Notebooks Get InterVideo InstantON

HPs Pavilion dv1000 notebooks are equipped with InterVideo's InstantON technology, allowing them to play DVDs or music without having to boot into Windows.

InterVideo, Inc. announced today that its InstantON technology, integrated with HP QuickPlay, is now shipping on HP Pavilion dv1000 Entertainment Notebooks. The move is the first time InterVideo InstantON technology has been bundled with select HP Pavilion consumer notebooks and marks a significant step forward for InterVideo's PC/CE convergence.

The HP Pavilion notebook series offers new levels of functionality to provide consumers the ultimate in mobile entertainment and personal productivity. With HP QuickPlay, the HP Pavilion dv1000 Entertainment Notebooks include a completely integrated entertainment package for playing DVD movies and MP3 or CD-Audio music faster than ever without booting Windows. An additional feature of HP QuickPlay is the ability to select and play movies or music from the comfort of a couch using a remote control.

With HP QuickPlay integrated as a dual-boot configuration, HP Pavilion dv1000 Entertainment Notebooks can be used for both Windows PC-based computing tasks and CE entertainment. The entertainment features quickly come to life with the push of a button. Consumers can watch DVDs and home VCDs or SVCD videos with superior clarity and can listen to music wherever they want. Playback is enhanced with advanced navigation technology that allows users to skip DVD chapters, fast forward/backward, pause and enjoy theater quality video.

Also available with select HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario consumer notebooks are three InterVideo products: WinDVD, the industry's leading DVD playback software, WinDVD Creator and InterVideo Home Theater. WinDVD Creator is a simple-to-use editing and authoring software solution that allows consumers to easily convert their own home movies into professional looking DVD and VCDs in three easy steps. InterVideo Home Theater is an integrated entertainment center for Windows PCs that provides users various multimedia selections that include watching and recording TV programs, viewing DVDs/VCDs, creating personal music libraries and enjoying a picture slideshow with music.
