PhotoBucket Adds Image Editing

Image sharing site PhotoBucket has added an image-editor powered by FotoFlexer, enabling users to edit and add effects to their photos.
It seems like every digital camera and computer operating system comes with some sort of image editor these days, but that doesn't mean photo fans have access to image editing tools anytime they need them—like, say, at an Internet cafe, someone else's computers or (we won't tell!) posting images from work. So photo sharing sites have been keen to add Web-based image editing capabilities to their services, and PhotoBucket is the latest to join the crowd, announcing today it has added Web-based image-editing tools from FotoFlexer to its site.
"FotoFlexer is the perfect complement to Photobucket's existing features, as it provides a way for our users to do more with their personal media online," said PhotoBucket president Alex Welch, in a statement. "This has been the most requested feature from our users."
Existing PhotoBucket users will be able to edit images within their albums, including basic operations like resizing and cropping images, as well as apply more design-oriented changes like borders, removing objects from backgrounds, color effects, decorative changes, and more. Users can also twist or stretch photos, and "beautify" them a bit, removing blemishes or wrinkles.
PhotoBucket is owned by MySpace; the new editing feature is being sponsored by Toyota, who is providing "stickers" users can apply to their photos.
