Kinyo's 2006 offerings include several iPod speaker systems and two new VoIP speakers with built in microphones.
Kinyo and its subsidiary ArtDio were busy showcasing new products at CES 2006 earlier this month in Las Vegas. Amongst the new items on display were several speaker-based iPod docking systems and some VoIP accessories. Kinyo's new iPod Docking Systems are the DS-120 ($49.95), DS-121 ($69.95) and DS-122 ($84.95). All should be available in the second quarter of this year. The DS-120 is designed with two magnetically shielded satellite speakers attached to a compact sized docking system and puts out 3 watts of total output power. It includes two 1-1/2" full range metal micro drivers. The DS-121 is a 2.1 portable audio docking system with an equalizer and two magnetically shielded satellites. Features include different sized adapters for various iPods, 12 watts of total power, a built in subwoofer and an infrared wireless remote. The DS-122 is another 2.1 docking system, offering 18 watts of power, a 5" metal subwoofer and satellite dimensions of 2.95" x 7.4" x 3.3". The VoIP accessories Kinyo announced are part of its ArtDio subsidiary's line up. These items include SS-100 ($49.95) and SS-168 ($69.95) VoIP speakers. Both will be available in the first quarter. The SS-100 is a single, full-duplex satellite speaker with a built-in microphone and support of Skype-like soft phone programs. It is powered by any USB connector and can be traveled with because of its compact design. The SS-168 meanwhile looks more like traditional computer speakers. Features include four metal micro drivers, background noise reduction technology, automatic music pause for incoming VoIP calls, a built in microphone and control functions on the right speakers.
